Privacy policy
Last updated 13 October 2026
What we collect, why, who we share it with, and your choices. In short: your data is yours, we use it only to run Forekort, and we never sell it.
1. Who we are
Forekort is run by the business that runs Forekort ("we", "us"). We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988. This policy covers two kinds of information: about the dealers who use Forekort, and about the dealers’ own customers stored in it.
2. Information about you, the dealer
When you sign up and use Forekort we collect:
- your name, email address, mobile number and your dealership’s name;
- your team members’ names and email addresses when you invite them;
- billing details, handled by Stripe (we see the card type and last four digits, never the full number);
- how you use Forekort, such as sign-ins and the pages and features used, to keep it secure and working.
We use this to provide Forekort, sign you in, bill you, support you, and send you emails about your account (such as your trial ending or a failed payment). We don’t sell it, and we don’t use it for advertising.
3. Your customers’ information
You choose what you store about your customers, such as names, contact details, the vehicles they own, and service, rego and warranty dates. Your business is responsible for collecting it lawfully and telling your customers how you use it.
We hold it on your behalf and use it only to run Forekort for you: for example, to send the reminders you set up. We don’t contact your customers for our own purposes, and we don’t sell or share their information.
If one of your customers asks us about their information, we’ll refer them to you, and help you respond.
4. Cookies
Forekort uses one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
5. Who we share information with
We use trusted providers to run Forekort, and give them only what they need:
- Render: hosting and databases.
- Stripe: payments.
- Resend: sending emails.
- Mobile Message: sending texts (an Australian provider).
- Cloud file storage, for photos and documents you upload.
Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We choose providers with strong security and privacy commitments and take reasonable steps to make sure they handle information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
6. Keeping information safe
Information is encrypted in transit, access is limited to the people who need it to run and support Forekort, and every account’s data is kept separate. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text.
If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we’ll notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
7. How long we keep information
While your account is active, we keep your information for as long as you keep it in Forekort. When an account pauses or is cancelled, we keep it for at least 60 days in case you come back, and may delete it after that. Copies in backups are deleted as the backups expire. We keep billing records for as long as tax law requires.
8. Access, correction and complaints
You can see and correct most of your information in Forekort. To ask for a copy, a correction or a deletion, or to make a complaint, email help@forekort.com. We’ll reply within 30 days.
If you’re not happy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll update this page and email account owners.
